Residents are finding relief from temperatures that continue to hover in 90s at Montgomery County pools.
The pools have been busy, according to Communications and Public Outreach Manager Monika Hammer.
“On Saturday, a good number of pools hit capacity. We definitely see a lot of people getting cool from the heat,” she said, adding that when crowds reach capacity, new swimmers are admitted as others leave.
On Monday, there already was a line to enter the Sergeant Hector I. Ayala Wheaton/Glenmont outdoor pool on Dalewood Drive.
That pool features lanes for swimming lanes, diving boards, fountains and sprays for children, flume slides, and a snack bar. All were in use Monday.
County outdoor pools are open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
