Montgomery County is providing 40,000 computers to residents without access to one through their program Montgomery Connects — Computers for You.
The county received a federal ECF grant for the program and has already distributed 844 computers, according to their website.
Individuals interested in receiving a computer can register for a pick-up time and location through Eventbrite. Registration links are available here for distribution events, which are limited to 200 people per event.
According to the county website, individuals must certify their inability to meet educational needs without access to a computer and need a library card and photo identification for pick-up.
The computers are available for children seven years or older, and children must also present a library card and photo identification, such as a school I.D., bus pass or recreation card.
Montgomery County is giving away 40,000 computers to residents who do not have access to a computer.
