County Recreation Cancels Job Fairs Due to High Applicant Response

Montgomery County Recreation has canceled its scheduled job fairs for April after receiving an overwhelming response from applicants. The department announced while the in-person hiring events will no longer take place, applications remain open for those interested in future opportunities.

The canceled job fairs were scheduled for:

  • Sunday, April 6 – Silver Spring Recreation and Aquatic Center, 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 6 – Nancy H. Dacek North Potomac Community Recreation Center, 2:30–5 p.m.
  • Friday, April 11 – Long Branch Community Recreation Center, 6–8:30 p.m.

Despite the cancellations, Montgomery County Recreation continues to accept applications for summer 2025 part-time positions, including camp directors, counselors, lifeguards, and more. Pay starts at $17.15 per hour with increases based on experience. Applicants must be at least 16 years old by the start of camp; lifeguards must be at least 15. The department encourages bilingual applicants to apply.

All employees must pass a criminal background check, including state, federal, and sex offender screenings.
