As July 4th approaches, residents are reminded that all fireworks, including gold-labeled sparklers, are illegal to use in the county. The only exception is snap-and-pop noise makers, snakes and party poppers.
Private use and possession of fireworks can result in a $500 fine. Selling fireworks is also prohibited in Maryland, with offenders facing a $1,000 fine.
Authorities urge the public to comply with these regulations to ensure a safe holiday. Visit the MCFRS website for more information.
