County Seeks Volunteers to Work with Sexual Assault Victims

Montgomery County’s Trauma Services needs volunteers to assist victims of sexual assault and domestic violence and their families.

Outreach Volunteers provide 24-hour crisis counseling and companion services to victims of rape, sexual assault and domestic violence. Volunteers provide the assistance in local hospitals and police stations. The county urgently needs bilingual volunteers.

Requirements to apply for a volunteer position include being a Montgomery County resident, having a valid driver’s license, immediate access to transportation and being at least 21 years of age.

To become a volunteer, individuals must attend a training program covering crisis intervention skills and commit to serving for one year.
