The Washington Post announced their fall All-Met athletes of the year this week and two soccer players from Montgomery County were named athletes of the year:
Girls’ soccer: Riley DeMartino, senior forward for Whitman
Boys’ soccer: Finian Godfrey, senior goalie for The Heights
In football, four players and the head coach of WCAC champions Good Counsel made first team All-Met:
Offense:
Tony Berry, wide receiver, Northwest
David Avit, running back, Churchill
Dilin Jones, running back, Good Counsel
Kyle Altuner, offensive lineman, Good Counsel
Defense:
Xavier Gilliam, defensive end, Quine Orchard
Aaron Chiles, linebacker, Good Counsel
Faheem Delane, safety, Good Counsel
Coach of the year:
Andy Stefanelli, Good Counsel
