By the end of the year, all households with curbside recycling services through the county will be able to recycle electronics and batteries, too.
The county started phasing-in the electronic and battery collection in 2022. Leaders plan to have it implemented county-wide by the end of 2025.
Those who do not have the curbside service yet will receive information in the mail before it begins in their area. The expansion is only for residents who receive county-provided recycling services. Residents can use this lookup tool to see how their recycling service is provided.
It is an on-call service. Once the curbside service begins in their neighborhood, residents should call 311 to schedule pickup of electronics and batteries ahead of their regular recycling day. Those items should not be mixed into regular recycling bins due to fire risk; residents should place them at the curb separately.
