D.C. Man Charged in Shooting Death on Metro Bus

Trevon Hatcherson-Ross, 22, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged in connection with the shooting death of Justice T’Zivan Elliot, 19, that occurred Feb. 17 on a Metro bus.

Montgomery County police officers on patrol in the Vista at White Oak apartments witnessed a Metro bus pulled over on Lockwood Drive in White Oak. When the officers went to see what the problem was, they learned that a shooting had occurred inside the bus.

Elliot had been removed from the bus before the officers arrived. The officers attempted life-saving measures on Elliot, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a police investigation, Elliott was seated in the back of the bus when the suspect boarded the bus and confronted him. They spoke, and then the suspect pulled out a handgun, shot Elliott and ran from the bus.

Hatcherson-Ross was extradited from a detention center in Washington, D.C. on June 14, to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. He is being held there without bond.
