Plans for major construction work at Damascus High School at the aging school and to deal with increased capacity may be delayed for the second time.
Previously, due to fiscal concerns, the county council pushed the completion date for this project back one year, with the goal of completing it by 2026.
Parents are concerned that the project once again will be listed as non-recommended, moving the completion date back even further.
A meeting Tuesday night is being held in the Damascus High School cafeteria to update members of the community and decide on advocacy strategies.
“Our community’s advocacy in order to ensure the project stays on schedule is more important now than ever,” according to a flyer about the 7 p.m. meeting.
The high school was built in 1950 and last renovated in 1978.
