A man died after a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday morning in Damascus, according to Montgomery County Police.
Authorities responded to a serious collision on Damascus Road at Annapolis Rock Road shortly after 8:00 a.m. 48-year-old Andrew Robert Walter of Locust Drive in Damascus was pronounced deceased at the scene. Walter was the driver and only occupant according to an MCPD press release.
Preliminary investigation by detectives determined that a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling south on Damascus Road approaching Annapolis Rock Road when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this incident. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact CRU detectives at 240-773-6620.
