24 summers ago, Dominique Dawes was a teenager and a world-class gymnast helping the U.S.team win a gold medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Now aged 43, Dawes is realizing a different dream, one that means even more to her. On Wednesday, she is opening the aptly named Dominique Dawes Gymnastics Academy in Clarksburg.
It has taken a lot of work and patience by a lot of people but Dawes, her team and the gym are ready to open.
MyMCMedia’s Joe Yasharoff talked to Dawes about her passion project.
