Deadline for ‘Speak Up, Save a Life’ Video Contest Extended

The Magnolia Companies partnered with the Good Samaritan Fund for the “Speak Up, Save a Life” video contest. The partnership raised the prize amounts and extended the contest’s due date.

The first-place winner will receive $4,000, second place will receive $2,000 and third place and fan favorite will receive $750. The Magnolia Companies donated the money in honor of Michael Pisarra and Matthew Loudon who lost their lives to fentanyl.

The contest challenges 6th to 12th-grade students residing in Montgomery County to create an original video promoting awareness about the dangers of illicit opioids, fentanyl and the risk of overdose, according to the release.

Students participating can earn 10 SSL hours and will be asked to vote on the “Fan Favorite” winner, according to Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office (MCSAO) Director of Public Affairs Lauren DeMarco.

Entries are now due by midnight on Tuesday, Nov. 12. To register, click here.
