Quince Orchard came away with three interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, in its 24-14 win over Northwest.
Northwest’s offense moved into Quince Orchard territory on its first two possessions, but both drives ended in turnovers. Defensive backs Shae Terry and Ayden West each recorded an interception in the first quarter that quelled Northwest’s passing attack and helped the Cougars jump out to a 14-6 lead.
On the opening drive of the second half, linebacker Matthieu Longa intercepted a pass over the middle and returned it for an eight-yard touchdown.
Northwest quarterback Nicky Holloway was under constant duress, throwing three interceptions and taking multiple sacks. The Jaguars had some success on the ground game. Wide receiver Antonio Berry lined up in Wildcat formations and ran for a couple of big gains. He scored on a two-yard run in the second quarter.
Quince Orchard (11-0) moves on to the quarterfinal round of the class 4A playoffs, while Northwest finishes their season at 5-6.
