A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until noon Tuesday. Multiple lanes of the inner loop of the Beltway were closed early Tuesday morning after a fatal crash occurred near University Blvd. around Silver Spring.
Authorities advise drivers to stay alert, slow down and keep headlights on but urge them to use low beams because high beams creates glare and reduces visibility.

Dense fog is present in our region. When driving in fog, use low beam headlights since the high beam setting creates glare and reduces visibility. #MDWX pic.twitter.com/XiqTS7xqOr
