Detectives continue to investigate an armed robbery and kidnapping near Shady Grove Road and I-270 on April 23.
According to the MCPD, as the victim exited I-270 onto Shady Grove Road, he encountered a silver Mitsubishi partially blocking the exit ramp. A suspect flagged the victim over onto the side of the road. The victim, believing the suspect was a police officer, walked over to him. The suspect told the victim to return to his vehicle.
The suspect then walked over to the victim’s car and asked for money. He entered the victim’s car and demanded they drive to the Bank of America in the 15000 block of Shady Grove Road. When the victim drove away, a second suspect followed in the silver Mitsubishi. The victim said the suspect had a handgun in his suit jacket.
After reviewing the bank’s surveillance cameras, detectives obtained footage of one of the suspects. The MCPD describes the suspect as a 5-foot-10 male of Middle Eastern descent with a light complexion and short hair. Detectives say he has the word “Vitiligo” tattooed on his hands and neck. He was wearing a tan suit and boat shoes.
The second suspect, seen driving the silver Mitsubishi, is described as a male of East Indian descent. Detectives say he had a dark complexion with straight black hair. He was wearing a button up shirt with thin blue and white stripes.
Detectives ask anyone with information to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070. A reward of up to $10,000 is offered for information leading to an arrest in this case.
