Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a collision that occurred on Jan. 24 in Rockville that left one of the drivers with life-threatening injuries.
Detectives conducting a preliminary investigation determined that a 2013 Honda Fit, traveling southbound on Frederick Road, crossed the center meridian and struck a 2012 Honda Civic.
The driver of the Honda Fit, Fathi Hamadi Moudoud, a 34-year-old man from Rockville, was taken to a local hospital after the collision with life-threatening injuries, according to a press release from the Montgomery County Department of Police.
In 2011, Moudoud pled guilty to charges of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was sentenced to supervised probation, according to records from the District Court for Montgomery County.
Captain Thomas Jordan, the Public Information Officer for the Montgomery County Department of Police, was unavailable to provide updates on the driver’s condition or the status of the investigation.
Ali Reza Nassabeth, 62-year-old driver of the Honda Civic, was not injured in the collision.
