Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian-involved collision that occurred in North Bethesda early Friday morning.
First responders arrived on the scene shortly after 5:00 a.m., according to police. An investigation determined that a car was traveling north on Rockville Pike approaching Grosvenor Lane when the pedestrian, identified as 74-year-old James Eugene White Jr. of North Bethesda, was attempting to cross the street. For reasons still under investigation, the car struck White Jr. on Rockville Pike. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured during the collision, police said.
