Detectives are investigating the home invasion of a Rockville home on July 10 and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the people responsible.
Police say the robbery happened on Key West Avenue around 1:25 a.m. The investigation revealed the adult male victim parked his car in the garage of the apartment complex. When the victim left his vehicle, the suspects approached him, displayed guns, and announced the robbery. According to MPD, the suspects then stabbed and assaulted the victim and tied his hands behind his back with zip ties. The victim was then forced into the suspects’ vehicle and the victim gave them access to his apartment. The suspects left with the safe containing an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry.
The family members inside the apartment during the robbery were left unharmed. When officers arrived, they found the victim who was transported to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives reviewed surveillance footage and obtained a description of the suspects.
One of the suspects is described as a Black male, in his 20s, with curly hair, medium build and armed with a handgun. He was wearing a black ski mask and black clothing. The other five suspects are described as Black males, in their twenties and armed with handguns. They were all were wearing black clothing.
Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this crime or the suspects involved to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects.
