Friday night was a big night for Montgomery County high school football. Eight picks after Einstein’s Arnold Ebiketie was selected by Atlanta, Good Counsel alum Josh Paschal was picked by the Detroit Lions in the second round with the 46th overall selection.
Paschal starred at Kentucky where he was the only 3-year captain in school history. He was named first-team All-SEC after a season in which he totaled 53 tackles, a team-high 15.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, a team-high eight quarterback hurries, one forced fumble and a blocked kick.

He was a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member and made the dean’s list twice. He graduated this month with a degree in family science and a minor in health promotion.
Born in Washington, D.C., he grew up in Prince George’s County.
