Montgomery County Police reported that suspects drove a vehicle into the Giant on Leaman Farm Road in Germantown and tried to steal money from the ATM machine.

Police officers responded Monday at 4:28 a.m. to the store to investigate.

According to police, three suspects drove a green Dodge Ram 1500 in reverse through the main entrance of the store, causing “significant damage.” The suspects then got out of the vehicle and tried unsuccessfully to break open an ATM.

They then drove the truck, which police said had been stolen in Germantown, inside the store and struck the ATM machine several times to try and open it. They drove away without taken any money or property from the store.

When the truck became disabled, the suspects fled and left it in the store parking lot.

All the suspects wore dark clothing.
