Police said a man drove into a home Thursday morning in the Rockville/Twinbrook area.
A 67-year-old man crashed into a home in the 2200 block of McAuliffe Drive at about 7:45 a.m., according to the Rockville City Police Department (RCPD).
The driver is not the homeowner, according to police. He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and cited for traffic offenses in a “case of operator error,” police shared.
The driver struck a utility pole, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, and “live” powerlines were down on the vehicle, trapping a person inside. MCFRS removed the man trapped inside.
One family is likely displaced.
Piringer stated Pepco arrived and the building inspector was on the scene.
