Heavy rain Sunday night into Monday caused high water in some areas which led to several vehicles in water including a water rescue in Brookeville at approximately 4:30 a.m. The driver left the vehicle, was swept downstream and clung to a tree before being extracted and rescued via boat according to Pete Piringer, spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue (MCFRS).
Brighton Dam Road between Bordly Drive and New Hampshire Avenue in Brookeville is closed.

A flood watch was in effect Sunday into Monday for Montgomery County. Rain is expected to wane Monday morning but heavy winds are expected to last into the afternoon.
