A driver who walked away from a crash, collapsed near the former Washington Adventist Hospital suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his leg, according to Takoma Park Police.
Sunday at 8 p.m., police responded to the area of Maple Avenue and Sligo Creek Parkway following a report of a personal injury crash. Police saw a disabled vehicle and later located the driver. The adult Hispanic make was taken to a local hospital where he is in stable condition, according to Takoma Park police.
According to witnesses, a front seat passenger fled the scene. Park Police and the Montgomery County Police’s K9 Unit searched the area but did not locate the passenger.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the shooting most likely occurred at another location, and both the victim and passenger drove to the scene where the collision took place.
