Driver Sustains Life-Threatening Injuries in Montgomery Village Hit and Run

Police said a driver who left the scene in a hit and run in Montgomery Village over the weekend suffered life-threatening injuries.

Officers and fire rescue personnel responded to Montgomery Village Avenue and Shadow Oak Drive at about 9:34 p.m. Saturday for a reported hit and run crash, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).

According to police, a driver in a black 2011 Nissan Murano was going southbound on Montgomery Village Avenue and collided with a Mercedes-Benz. The Nissan driver left the scene and continued southbound when “for reasons under investigation” the driver went off the road, hit a pole, and rolled into a construction site, where the driver was ejected from the Nissan, according to police.

The driver in the Nissan was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police stated, and the occupants in the Mercedes-Benz were uninjured.

The investigation is ongoing. Police ask anyone with information to contact detectives at 240-773-6620.
