A water main break in the area of DuFief Drive and Brandy Hall Lane in North Potomac has led to Montgomery County Public Schools closing DuFief Elementary early on Thursday.
MCPS released a statement to the community that says, “We will follow normal dismissal procedures. Parents should be aware that the water main break has caused street closures, which may result in some delays for traffic coming into and out of the school.”
Luis Maya, a spokesperson with WSSC Water, told MyMCM, that a 12 inch water main has broken. He said crews are on site and working on shutting off the water. Unless there is some sort of complication, Maya expects repairs to be completed by Thursday evening so that DuFief Elementary School can open on time Friday.
