During the St. Patrick’s Day weekend, which ran from March 15 to March 17, Montgomery County Police officers and troopers from the Maryland State Police had extra patrols on the road.
The law enforcement officers conducted 82 stops, and issued 129 traffic citation, 64 traffic warnings, 21 safety repair orders, one criminal arrest and 13 Driving Under the Influence arrests.
Other arrests and citations were issued during that same time period but were not part of the special holiday patrol.
