Montgomery County voters have returned more than 114,000 mail-in ballots for the 2024 Presidential General Election as of Nov. 1. Yet, more than 70,000 requested ballots remain unreturned.
“Don’t delay – vote today!” said David Naimon, president of the Montgomery County Board of Elections in a statement. There are three ways to return a completed mail-in ballot: deposit it in one of 58 dr0p boxes throughout the county, return it by U.S. Mail or bring it to any of 232 polling places on Election Day.
Drop boxes will accept ballots until 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Mail-in ballots returned by U.S. Mail must be postmarked by Election Day to be counted. Voters choosing to vote in person after requesting a mail-in ballot must vote provisionally, which requires extra paperwork and take longer. Election officials will verify eligibility and confirm no duplicate votes before counting provisional ballots.
To find the nearest drop box or post office, voters can text “BOX” followed by their zip code to 77788, visit www.777vote.org, or call 240-777-8500. Information on ballot drop box locations is also available in the Official Sample Ballot and Voters Guide mailed to registered voters in October.
Those who did not request a mail-in ballot and did not vote during early voting should vote in person Tuesday. To view a personalized sample ballot or assigned polling place, text “CHECK” to 77788 or visit www.777vote.org.
