County Executive Marc Elrich called the storming of the U.S Capitol Wednesday by pro-Trump rioters “an attempted coup – an effort to overturn out election and to destroy democracy.”
He placed the blame for the riot on “Donald Trump’s head.”
Elrich also noted that the county sent dozens of officers to help out in Washington, D.C.
We have sent dozens of officers to assist the District in controlling and ending this madness. I look forward to their speedy and safe return, and a rapid confirmation of the election outcome – as certified by the States.
