On Thursday, County Executive Marc Elrich held the third in a series of Community Meetings in downtown Bethesda. The meetings allow residents input on long term projects as part of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Eventually the crowd of more than 50 attendees broke into groups to suggest infrastructure changes. Before that Elrich spent time outlining the dynamics driving the need for a 10-cent addition to current property tax rates. Here are the highlights of that presentation.
In-person community meetings will continue next week on Monday, April 24 at the Sidney Kramer UpCounty Regional Services Center and on Wednesday, April 26 in Wheaton at the Community Services Center. A final virtual meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 1. All meetings start at 7 p.m.
