Montgomery County is currently in Phase 2 reopening. County Executive Marc Elrich held a virtual media briefing on Wednesday and mentioned safety precautions put in place during this phase to help prevent the spread of the virus. He says it’s vital that the community understands that staying within phase guidelines will gradually allow the county to move forward and remain open safely.
During the briefing, Dr. Travis Gayles gave an update on COVID-19 case numbers. He says the county has seen case count averages decrease compared to the past couple of weeks, according to the county data dashboard. He added that the county is working hard to drop numbers even more before moving into the next phase.
The Phase 3 reopening date has not been announced yet and Elrich says it depends on the decrease in cases. Watch the video for more details on where the county currently stands.
