Elrich: ‘The More People To Come Out and Get Their Shots, The More Things Will Open’

Montgomery County is moving forward with reopening in phases tied to vaccination rates. Now that more than 50% of the county’s population has the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, some restrictions have been eased.

“This is going to incentivize our community to get vaccinated as soon as possible. The more people come out and get their shots, the more things will open,” said County Executive Marc Elrich during his weekly virtual media briefing on Wednesday.

Elrich explains how the county’s vaccination rates correlate with phased reopening plans.
