Maryland Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller, County Executive Marc Elrich, members of the County Council, County Police Chief Marcus Jones and several members of the Police Department were in attendance Friday morning for the Autism After 21 Breakfast at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda.
The event raised awareness for autism, specifically adult autism.
Miller was the recipient of the Madison Award which is given to honor an individual “who has helped significantly to improve the lives and futures of adults with autism through increasing national awareness of this vulnerable population.” Miller was recognized for her work in public service and “recognizing the many facets and range of diversity within our community.”
The event’s founders are Dr. Gregory and Jalynn Prince.
Former NBC4 anchor Barbara Harrison was the mistress of ceremonies.
