Montgomery Parks’ “Discover Your Happy Place Summer Adventure” is challenging participants to explore the local outdoors this summer.
The challenge is designed for children ages 4-14, but people of all ages are welcome to participate.
To successfully finish the challenge, participants must document completing at least 12 activities from an activity card. Activities include hiking on a trail, visiting a Montgomery Parks historic site, having a picnic in a park and more.
“This is a free, fun and educational activity for kids,” Mike Riley, the director of Montgomery Parks, said in a press release discussing the challenge. “The challenge is a great way to encourage kids to go outside, get exercise, and have an active adventure.”
After completing the challenge, participants can submit their photos and notes to earn a prize. Participants who submit their entries by Aug. 18 will earn a certificate of completion and be entered into a raffle to win a free Campfire Ring Rental.
Participants who submit their entries by July 9 will also receive two tickets to Bethesda Big Train’s July 16 game where they will be celebrated before the event.
