Montgomery County has activated the Extreme Cold Plan for a hypothermia alert from 3 p.m. Thursday until 9 a.m. Friday morning.
A hypothermia alert is issued when forecasted temperatures, and or wind chill, fall below 32 degrees. Hypothermia and frostbite are likely to occur when the temperature is below 32 degrees.
People can call the police non-emergency number to report animals and homeless individuals who are in danger: 301-279-8000.
