Montgomery County has activated the Extreme Cold Plan for a hypothermia alert from Tuesday at 6 p.m. until Wednesday at 6 p.m.
A hypothermia alert is issued when forecasted temperatures, and or wind chill, fall below 32 degrees. Hypothermia and frostbite are likely to occur.
People can call the police non-emergency number to report animals and homeless individuals who are in danger: 301-279-8000.
