The annual Festival of Lights hosted by the Washington D.C. Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kensington opened Thursday, Nov. 30. Visitors can expect more than 400,000 lights, Nativity créches, tree decorations from around the world and nightly concerts.
The festival continues through Monday, Jan. 1, 2024 and features a walking display of Christmas trees decorated with ornaments from around the world, nightly musical performances in the indoor theater, indoor decorated Christmas trees, and an exhibit of crèches from around the world.
Commonly referred to as the Mormon Temple, the Washington D.C. Temple is located at 9900 Stoneybrook Drive.
Nightly concerts include bell ensembles, choirs, orchestras, and bands. Tickets are no longer required. The schedule of concerts may be found on the Washington D.C. Temple Festival of Lights 2023 website.
