The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Fire Weather Watch for Wednesday, warning of dangerous fire conditions in Montgomery County and surrounding areas. The watch will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Forecasters expect northwest winds of 15 to 20 mph, with gusts reaching 25 to 35 mph. Relative humidity levels could drop as low as 15%, especially in Virginia. Dry conditions and strong winds may allow fires to spread quickly.
The NWS urges residents to stay alert for updates and possible Red Flag Warnings, which indicate that critical fire weather conditions are occurring or expected soon.

Officials advise against outdoor burning and recommend securing flammable materials. Residents should report any wildfires immediately.
The Fire Weather Watch includes Montgomery County, as well as nearby areas such as Frederick, Howard, and Baltimore counties in Maryland. It also covers Northern Virginia, including Fairfax, Loudoun, Arlington, and Prince William counties, and parts of Eastern West Virginia.
