No one was injured due to a fire at a strip mall on Logstrand Lane in the City of Rockville early Thursday morning.
About 100 Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel were on the scene following the 5:20 a.m. report of a fire at Logstrand Lane between Taft Street and Southlawn Lane. When they arrived, there was significant fire shooting through the roof, according to spokesperson Pete Piringer.
The fire caused significant damage to Soto Leeson Laundry Service and Motor Work, Inc.
The fire has been extinguished although firefighters remained on the scene to deal with hotspots and smoldering debris, Piringer reported.
The cause is under investigation but is “likely accidental,” according to Piringer.
Nearby roads were closed to traffic but reopened at 9 a.m.
