DARCARS Automotive Group has partnered with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) to offer unique training scenarios for firefighters. It’s a perfect example of how the private sector can provide opportunities and benefits like improved public safety for the public sector.
When an older home across from their Derwood dealership went on the market, DARCARS purchased it and offered it to MCFRS to use as a training site.
MCM was on the sidelines for one of the drills conducted for hundreds of Maryland fire personnel in 2023.
One of the drills performed at the DARCARS house was crafted to help firefighters deal with a situation that resulted in the death of a Howard County fireman in the line of duty last year.
DARCARS plans to continue their relationship with MCFRS. The next firefighting drills will involve electric vehicle fires.
