A large pile of scrap metal went up in flames Sunday evening outside at the Shady Grove Transfer Station on Frederick Road in Derwood, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer.
First responders used heavy equipment to separate and douse the fire, according to Piringer.
There were no injuries, according to Piringer.
Last month on July 17 there was a large trash fire inside the building at the transfer station.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this point, Piringer told MCM on Monday.
