1. MCDOT Public Meeting: MCDOT will hold a public meeting to brief the community and receive feedback about two bike-way projects: the Washington Grove Connector and the Crabbs Branch Way Extension. 2. AARP Smart Driver Class: A classroom brush-up on driving skills. Learn about new state laws in Maryland that affect driving. Some insurance companies provide a discount for those who complete this course. This will take place at the Holiday Park Senior Center [3950 Ferrara Drive in Silver Spring] from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
3. Art of Living Mindfully: Have you been interested in mindfulness and meditation but not sure how to get started? During these sessions, they will explore mindfulness as a daily practice. 4. Coffee Connections Workshop: The Maryland Women’s Business Center is hosting a monthly coffee connections workshop and networking opportunity. Learn from and build connections with other Maryland female entrepreneurs. 5. FeBREWary Continues: Residents have the opportunity to save money and energy by trading in old incandescent or compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs for free LED light bulbs thanks to a program by local breweries and the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Participants may bring as many bulbs as they have available to receive a maximum of three or four LED bulbs for free.
