1. Council in Session: Montgomery County Council meets at 9 a.m. in the Council Hearing Room, located at 100 Maryland Avenue in Rockville. Here’s a look at the agenda for the meeting. Notably, the council is issuing three proclamations: the first recognizes the winner of the Councilmember for a Day contest; the second recognizes Charles McGee, the oldest living member of the Tuskegee Airmen; and the third recognizes Teen Dating Violence Prevention Awareness Month.

2. Science Cafe: The Silent War—Wound Infections: The National Museum of Health and Medicine, located at 2500 Linden Lane in Silver Spring, is hosting a discussion on military combat wound infections of the past and today. Daniel Zurawski, the chief of pathogenesis and virulence for the Bacterial Disease Branch of Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, is speaking at the event. The discussion is from 6 to 7 p.m. Here’s more information.
3. Women in Trades Apprenticeship Career Day: From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the East County Regional Services Center in Silver Spring is hosting a Women in Trades Apprenticeship Career Day. Women interested in attending the career day can register at the Maryland Workforce Exchange website.

4. ICC Closures Continue During the Week: The westbound lanes of the ICC between US 1 and I-95 will be closed from today at 9 a.m. through Thursday, Feb. 27 at 5 a.m.
5. American Minority Veterans Research Project: Elwood Gray is lecturing about the accomplishments of minority veterans across the county at 1 p.m. at the Benjamin Gaither Center, located at 80A Bureau Drive in Gaithersburg. The lecture is free. Here’s more information.
