Here are five things to know in Montgomery County for Wednesday, June 17.
1. Virtual Youth Town Hall: Montgomery County Recreation will hold a youth town hall from 7-8:15 p.m. to give youth a platform to discuss social justice and current protests.
2. Katie Ledecky Virtual Storytime: Councilmember Will Jawando will be joined by Olympic swimmer Katie Ledecky during his daily virtual storytime for children at 11:30 a.m.
3. Council Committee Meetings: The Government Operations and Fiscal Policy (GO) and Health and Human Services (HHS) committees will meet virtually at 9:30 a.m. to discuss the handling of surge calls from residents during the COVID-19 crisis and recovery.

4. Street Construction: The City of Gaithersburg Department of Public Works will begin microsurfacing construction on multiple city streets today, lasting for about four days. The work will take place in the neighborhoods of Pheasant Run and Whetstone Run, and on Summit Hall road north of Brighton Drive until the end. Construction will go from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day. Parking on the street will be restricted.
