1. Cooking Up Engagement: Renowned chef, humanitarian Jose Andrés to address students at the Universities at Shady Grove as part of USG’s Civic Engagement Series. The event starts at 11 a.m. at the Building II Conference Center, 9636 Gudelsky Drive, Rockville. Manna Food Center CEO Jackie DeCarlo will also speak.
2. Municipal Monday: Kensington’s Town Council holds a work session to discuss amendments to the town’s sign and commercial regulations. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 3710 Mitchell St.
3. Council Actions: The Montgomery County Council’s planning committee meets at 9:30 a.m. in the Seventh Floor Hearing Room. The Health and Human Services Committee also meets at 9:30, in the Third Floor Conference Room. The Public Safety Committee meeting at 2 p.m. in the Seventh Floor Hearing Room to continue discussing the Policing Advisory Commission.
4. Talking Books: Book club meets at 5:30 p.m. at the Kensington Park Library.
