Montgomery County flags are at half-staff outside the Executive Office Building in Rockville in honor of the police officer who was killed Monday.
”We had a police officer who passed away on Monday, and I think the immediate reaction is to lower the county flags,” said Neil Greenberger, county spokesman.
Officer Thomas J. Bomba was found shot in a Silver Spring parking garage Monday Morning.
Greenberger said Chief Administrative Officer Andrew Kleine makes the decision about lowering the flags. His directive on the county flag applied to all county facilities with flags.
The length of time the flags will be at half-staff has not been determined, Greenberger said.
