President Joe Biden has ordered the United States flag flown at half-staff following Saturday’s shooting in Monterey Park, California. The Maryland flag is lowered to half-staff as no flag may fly higher than the United States flag.
This is to pay respect to the victims of Saturday’s shooting that left 11 dead and 10 others injured. The shooting took place inside a dance hall in Monterey Park which is a Los Angeles suburb, according to The Washington Post.
The flags will be raised back to full staff at sunset on Thursday, Jan. 26.
