Governor Larry Hogan announced that United States and Maryland flags have been lowered to half-staff to honor the life and legacy of Queen Elizabeth II who died Thursday in Scotland at the age of 96.
15 British prime ministers and 14 U.S. presidents served during her 70-year reign — the longest of any monarch in British history.
Queen Elizabeth visited Maryland in 1957 and again in 2007.
