The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) announced the return of its Flash Lights Holiday buses.
The decorated, holiday-themed buses run along the Columbia Pike Corridor (Route 29) through December.
The buses’ frames and windows are outlined in assorted colors, along with the words “Happy Holidays” spelled out along the side of the buses.
The decorated buses are running on the Blue and Orange routes of the Flash service, which provide stops along Route 29, like the White Oak Transit Center and the Silver Spring Transit Center.
MCDOT asks residents to post pictures of the Flash Lights buses on their social media accounts and tag @MCDOTNow for a chance to win a $25 gift card. More information on the contest is available on RidetheFlash.com.
The Flash Lights holiday buses made their 2023 debut on Nov. 18 at the Silver Spring Thanksgiving parade. A Flash bus decorated in a “Let It Snow” theme made its way down the parade route. The decorated buses began circulating on the US 29 route in late November.
