Monday, March 1 was the first time some Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students attended school in-person since March 13, 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic prompted leaders to shift to virtual learning.
Beginning Monday, students in specific career technology education (CTE) and specific special education programs will begin phasing back into school buildings. A broader phase-in will begin March 15, when kindergarteners through third graders re-enter school buildings, leading up to seventh and tenth graders returning as the last groups by April 26.
About 750 students went back to school buildings Monday. MyMCM was at Thomas Edison High School in Wheaton Monday morning and spoke with two students enrolled in CTE programs.
