Montgomery County Police arrested and charged a 46-year-old man with second-degree rape of a minor.
Police arrested Charles Erby Jr. on Friday, April 12, 2024, following an investigation by the county police’s Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID). Detectives are concerned that more victims may not have contacted police.
The investigation by detectives revealed that on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Erby Jr. lured a juvenile victim into a wooded area in the 13000 block of Veirs Mill Road in Rockville, where he sexually assaulted the victim.
Detectives identified Erby Jr. as the suspect and arrested him in Washington, D.C., where he is currently being held, awaiting extradition to Montgomery County.
